June 28-July 03, 2019. An expedition of researchers of GC ras to the area of the Lower Kansky granitoid massif (Zheleznogorsk, Krasnoyarsk Territory) took place to conduct geodynamic observations. The field work was carried out as part of the RSF project No. 18-17-00241 “Study of the sustainability of rock masses based on system analysis of geodynamic processes for geo-environmentally safe underground isolation of radioactive waste” in collaboration with the Institute for Safe Development of Nuclear Energy of RAS and with technical support from the Zheleznogorsky branch of FSUE NO RAO.

B. Dzeboev, Head of the Geophysical Data Laboratory, A. Manevich, Research Fellow of the Geodynamics Laboratory and Junior Researcher of the Geodynamics Laboratory I. Losev took part in the expedition.

Researchers of GC RAS performed a cycle of observations of modern movements of the Earth's crust based on global GPS/GLONASS navigation satellite systems in the area of construction of the future deep radioactive waste disposal site.

September 30, 2019.Director of GC RAS, corresponding member of RAS Anatoly Soloviev will take part in the VII International Conference “Dangerous natural and technogenic processes in mountain regions: models, systems, technologies” dedicated to the 70th anniversary of Professor Vladislav Borisovich Zaalishvili, and as a member of the Scientific Council, and will make a presentation “Multicriteria assessment of seismic hazard using geoinformatics methods”. The conference will be held in Vladikavkaz, Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, from September 30 to October 2, 2019.

September 9-20, 2019. A. A. Odintsova, Researcher at the Laboratory for Innovative Projects of GC RAS, took part in the CAS & CODATA Joint International Training Workshop on Scientific Big Data and Machine Learning, which took place at the Computer Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (Beijing, China).

September 19, 2019. Corresponding Member of RAS, Dr. Sc., Director of GC RAS Anatoly Soloviev made a presentation “Mathematical Methods for Processing Terrestrial and Satellite Based Geomagnetic Measurement Flows to Expand Knowledge about the Earth’s magnetic field" at a meeting of the Scientific Council on Geochemistry of Earth Sciences Branch of RAS. His presentation aroused great interest of the audience, as scientists saw a new approach to the study of the Earth and the ability to use these results in their scientific works.

September 17-18, 2019. In Beijing, the Chinese national CODATA committee held an international workshop "Open Research Data Policy and Practice". The workshop was attended by representatives of the National Russian Committee of CODATA: Academician A.D. Gvishiani, Chief Scientist of GC RAS and Vice President of CODATA, Deputy Director for Development of GC RAS A.I. Rybkina.
